Pakistan pacers create Asia Cup record

Pakistan pacers including Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf achieved a significant milestone during the Group A match of Asia Cup against India in Kandy on Saturday.

Shaheen, the lanky left-arm pacer, started the procession early on in the innings. His fiery pace and deadly accuracy proved too much to handle for the Indian batters. Afridi's sheer brilliance accounted for his four wickets, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja.

With early wickets down, Rauf, known for his fiery spells, took charge as he took key wickets of Shubman Gill, Sheryas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.

Not to be outdone, Naseem Shah, joined the party with his express deliveries. His raw pace left the batsmen flummoxed, as he snared three wickets of Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah.

In this way, the Pakistani trio scripted history by becoming the first set of pacers to claim all 10 wickets in an Asia Cup (ODI). However, the match was called-off without any result due to heavy showers. Pakistan and India received 3 and 1 points respectively, while Pakistan qualified for super four stage.
