Pakistan Shaheens beat Tasmania by five wickets in Top End T20 series

Pakistan Shaheens secured a five-wicket win over the Tasmania Tigers in the Top End T20 series on Tuesday.

Tasmania Tigers, who batted first, were bowled out for 124 runs. Pakistan Shaheens chased down the target in 15.1 overs. This victory marks the Shaheens' second win in three matches of the series.

Sahibzada Farhan led the charge with a top score of 45 off 27 balls, including six boundaries. However, his opening partner, Mohammad Haris, was dismissed for a golden duck on the third ball of the chase.

Omair Bin Yousuf then contributed a crucial 32 off 27 balls, with three boundaries, forming a 58-run partnership with Farhan over seven overs before being dismissed by James Scott.

Usman Khan managed a run-a-ball 10 before falling in the 11th over, while Tayyab Tahir was dismissed for six off five balls, with a single four, by Rafael Macmillan.

Mubasir Khan (16 off 14 balls) and Muhammad Irfan Khan (11 not out off 7 balls) then guided the Shaheens to victory with a 26-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

For Tasmania, Prestwidge was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Scott and Macmillan claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, after choosing to bowl first, the Shaheens' spinners Arif Yaqoob and Mubasir Khan took early wickets, dismissing Tasmania's openers Tim Ward (22 off 20 balls) and Nicholas Davis (13 off 17 balls), respectively.

Nivethan Radhakrishnan and Charlie Wakim added 14 runs each before being dismissed by Jahandad Khan and Mohammad Abbas Afridi. Tasmania was eventually bowled out for 124 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Mohammad Imran Jnr was the standout bowler for the Shaheens, claiming 3-18 in his four overs, while Jahandad and Abbas took two wickets each. Mubasir and Arif contributed with one wicket apiece.

Pakistan Shaheens are set to face the Melbourne Renegades in their next match on Thursday.
