Pakistan team staying in three-star hotels on England tour

Following the 14-day self-isolation period in Worcester, the Pakistan men’s national cricket team arrived in Derby on Monday for the second-leg of their training and practice camp ahead of their first Test, which commences at Old Trafford, Manchester, from August 5.

During their stay in Worcester and now in Derby, Pakistan players are staying in three-star hotels as those hotels are within the confines of the grounds the Men in Green will practice in.

According to the rules of International Cricket Council (ICC), teams and officials during international tours are supposed to stay in five-star hotels. However, due to novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have created a bio-secure environment for the foreign teams, which includes staying in hotels that are attached with the stadium.

According to team sources, the hotel in Derby is much better compared to the hotel they stayed in Worcester.

In Worcester, players had to go the ground inorder to see the sky. The food was also provided to them on the floor they were staying in. Whereas in Derby, players are allowed to go downstairs and have lunch and dinner together with their teammates.

Apart from the Pakistan team, no other guests are staying in the hotel. The Men in Green are craving Pakistani food but are following the plan made by the dietician.

Players are spending their off-time playing FIFA in the hotel team’s room. Table tennis, snooker, darts, carom are also available for team. Apart from gymnasium and swimming pool, players can also play table tennis, snooker, darts and darts during their leisure time.

Cricketers also have access to their mobile phone so they can video chat with their families.

Pakistan team will start their training in Derby from Wednesday.
