Pakistan U19 team to play international series at home after 15 years

Pakistan U19 team is all set to play its first international series on their own soil in 15 years.

As per reports, Bangladesh will tour the country. The expected dates of the tour are still not announced officially but it is quite understood that the tour will take place next month.

The Bangladesh U19 squad will be travelling to Pakistan to play one four-day match and five limited-over matches, all of which will take place in Faisalabad. A final announcement regarding the tour is likely to be made later this week.

When Bangladesh's young cricketers visited Pakistan in 2007, it was the last time Karachi had hosted an official youth series. Ahmed Shahzad, Shan Masood, Umar Amin, Imad Wasim, and Umar Akmal played for Pakistan in that series.

Bangladesh had names like Tamim Iqbal, Rubel Hossain, Dolar Mohammad and Mohammad Mithun.

Afghanistan's U19 squad travelled to Pakistan in 2014, although the games were not recognized as youth ODIs. Rashid Khan, Hazratullah Zazai, Naveen ul Haq, and Karim Jannat were those from Afghanistan's side who went on to represent their country.

It is highly likely that the best players from the ongoing Pakistan Junior League (PJL) will be part of the junior team during the U19 series against Bangladesh.
