The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is concerned about the continuous delay by Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Multan Sultans with regards to submission of cheque for franchise fee.
According to details, the board has written a letter to all franchises seeking advice about how to treat Sultans’ case and the future course of action.
It must be noted that the PSL franchises and PCB had agreed that if the former delays depositing bank guarantee, in the future, they will have to submit the same earlier, 12 months, than the agreed period of six months before every season.
When contacted, General Manager of Sultans Haider Azhar said that the franchise will clear the dues before October 25. He added that the reason behind the delay was the non-availability of team owner Alamgir Khan Tareen, who was out of the country, but we had told the PCB that the dues will be cleared as soon as he returns.
Other franchises have already fulfilled their financial obligations. Islamabad United has submitted their bank guarantee while four other teams had sent cheques to the PCB, before the deadline of October 10.
