The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Cricket Committee held a lengthy meeting on Friday to review the performances of the senior men, women, Under-19 and Under-16 national sides over the past three years.
Over the course of the meeting Pakistan Head Coach Mickey Arthur, former Chief Selector Inzamamul Haq, and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed provided their assessment and feedback on the senior men’s team’s performances.
According to sources, Arthur was grilled by the committee members as they did not seem satisfied with the head coach’s performance. Meanwhile skipper Sarfaraz’s also went through intense scrutiny, with regards to his captaincy.
The committee chaired by PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan decided to reconvene — via a conference call — early next week to finalise the recommendations, which will be sent to the PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, later in the next week.
Misbahul Haq and Urooj Mumtaz, along with Zakir Khan, director international cricket, and Mudassar Nazar, director academies, attended the meeting in person at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, while Wasim Akram joined via video link.
Haroon Rasheed, director domestic cricket, couldn’t attend the meeting due to his occupation with a domestic cricket meeting.
