PCB forms committee to investigate ghost tournaments

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formed a high level three-member committee to investigate ghost tournaments organised by Rawalpindi Cricket Association (RCA).

According to Daily Express, RCA organised ghost tournaments to complete PCB’s calendar schedule.

The tournaments allegedly took place during public holidays, including Eid-Al-adha.

Following complaints from the local clubs and media reports, the board has decided to investigate the matter.

The cricket regulatory authority in Pakistan formed a three-member committee headed by Saleem Azhar Mian.

The committee also includes Shafique Papa and Daniyal Imam.

It must be noted that the issue came in the limelight when the scorecards of the tournament showed that players — who are now settled abroad — were playing in the tournaments. Not only that, few six-year-old players were also spotted in the scorecards.
