PCB sets up ‘retreat camp’ for Asia Cup in Abbottabad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the national side will take part in a retreat camp activity at Army School of Physical & Training (ASPT) in Abbottabad from August 27 to 31, 2018.

Twenty six players who have been called will work to improve their fitness levels under their guidance of qualified coaches for the upcoming Asia Cup in United Arab Emirates.

The camp in Abbottabad will mark the first phase of Pakistan team preparations for the Asia Cup while the schedule for next training camp will be announced later.

This year’s Asia Cup was originally set to be held in India but was shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) because of strained relations between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The biennial tournament will begin September 15 with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in the opener.
The Cup reverts to its traditional 50-over ODI format this year after opting in 2016 for a T20I competition, which India won.

List of players called up:-
Fakhar Zaman, Imamul Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmad (captain), Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Usman Khan Shinwari, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Hafeez, Yasir Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Junaid Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, Shan Masood, Usman Salahuddin, Asad Shafiq, Bilal Asif, Mohammad Asghar, Rahat Ali and Mir Hamza.
