Five players from Pakistan have been granted No Objection Certificates (NOC’s) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the 2019 Global T20 Canada League.
These players include all-rounders Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez, pacer Wahab Riaz, leg-spinner Shadab Khan and middle-order batsman Umar Akmal.
The league which is based on the T20 format is scheduled to start from July 25 and will be played in Ontario. The final is scheduled for August 11.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is also expected to participate in the tournament. Afridi, however, does not require an NOC from the PCB.
Opener Fakhar Zaman also made a request for an NOC however he has not received a response yet.
According to a source in the PCB, the board will decide if the players can participate in other leagues at a later date.
