'Players not allowed to discuss India in dressing room', says Mohammad Haris

Pakistan Shaheens captain, Mohammad Haris, has revealed that discussions about their upcoming match against India are strictly off-limits in the dressing room. This decision comes ahead of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which starts on 18 October in Oman. Pakistan will face India ‘A’ in their first match on 19 October.

Haris explained that the reason for the ban is to prevent players from feeling unnecessary pressure before the much-anticipated clash.

"Talking about India is banned in the dressing room. Players feel pressure when thinking about the match against India, and we don’t want to put them under pressure," Haris said.

He also emphasized that the team is focusing on all their opponents, not just India, and they have tailored plans for each team.

"Our preparations are going well. We’re not just focusing on India, but we’ve got important matches against other teams too, like Oman and the UAE," he added.

The Pakistan Shaheens will play against Oman on 21 October and their final group stage match against the UAE on 23 October. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on 25 October, with the final set to be held on 27 October.

Haris also highlighted how his experience as a captain, especially leading the Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup, will help him during the tournament. "Captaining different teams, including senior players, has been a valuable experience," he concluded.
