The third and final T20 match between Pakistan and Australia will be played today in Hobart. With the hosts already having secured the series 2-0, Pakistan must win this match to avoid a whitewash.
In the opening game of the series, Pakistan suffered a 29-run defeat. After the match, captain Mohammad Rizwan stated that the team was in the process of identifying strong players to build an effective playing XI.
The second T20 saw Pakistan losing by 13 runs. Speaking at a post-match press conference, Rizwan attributed the loss to dropped catches, which he said were critical in determining the outcome. "We gave Australia too many opportunities," Rizwan said, adding, "There were some flaws in our fielding and batting that need to be addressed. Haris Rauf and the other bowlers bowled brilliantly. If we hadn't dropped those catches, the result could have been different."
Meanwhile, Haris Rauf achieved a significant milestone during the second T20. By taking four wickets in the match, he became Pakistan's joint-highest wicket-taker in T20 Internationals, with 107 wickets in 72 matches. He now shares this record with Shadab Khan, who has also taken 107 wickets in 96 matches.
As Pakistan prepares for the final match, the pressure is on to deliver a winning performance and salvage some pride in the series.
