Multans Sultans and Lahore Qalanadars will come face to face in the second eliminator of the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 at the National Stadium in Karachi today.
The winner of this contest will play Karachi Kings in the final on Tuesday evening at the same venue.
On Saturday, Imad Wasim-led Kings qualified for the final after winning the qualifier against Shan Masood’s Sultans. The Kings were cruising to victory, thanks to opener Babar Azam’s fifty, but Sultans made a late comeback, courtesy all-rounder Sohail Tanvir’s three quick wickets. Imad hit a boundary on the last ball to tie the match while pacer Mohammad Amir defended 13 runs in the super over to take his team over the line.

Meanwhile, in the first eliminator Lahore Qalandars knocked Peshawar Zalmi out of PSL 5 with a five-wicket win. Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez paved the path to victory with a 74-run unbeaten knock, after the Wahab Riaz-led unit had set a target of 171 runs.
Zalmi’s ouster meant that this year we will see a new PSL champion as none of the three remaining teams have lifted the title before.
