PSL General Council meeting set to take place today

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) General Council meeting is set to take place today.

According to details, the PSL 5 was put on hold after 30 matches due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The PCB intends on holding the remaining four matches at the end of the current year, however, no decision has been finalised regarding the matter.

According to sources, some franchises have still not paid their due amounts. Franchise owners have always disagreed with the commercial model of the league which will be discussed during the meeting.

The PCB, in order to fix a dollar rate for the fees, acquired the services of an audit, tax and advisory company, which forwarded different dollar rates for each franchise. The rates were, however, rejected by the PCB. The franchises remain unhappy with the decision.

Implementation on the issues resolved in the last meeting will also be discussed. The PCB is likely to inform the franchises of its decision to make the PSL a separate department. According to sources, the franchises are not happy with the decision because of a lack of representation. They supported the creation of a separate company for the PSL.
