Former Pakistan cricketer-turned-commentator, Ramiz Raja, believes that Pakistan needs to improve in couple of areas inorder to become a successful T20I side.
While speaking on his official YouTube channel, after Pakistan’s win in the first T20I against South Africa in Lahore, Raja stressed on the importance of higher run-rate in powerplay overs and introducing players who are accustomed to playing in the sub-continent.
“Pakistan needs to add more power in the powerplay overs because our record is the worst in the first six overs,” said Raja.

It must be noted that Pakistan have the lowest powerplay run-rate in T20Is since 2019 (6.97).
“Secondly, I think Pakistan needs to add batsmen in the side who have the ability to give impetus to the batting in sub-continent conditions bearing in mind the fact that the next T20 World Cup is in the sub-c0ntinent,” he added.
The remaining two matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday, also in Lahore, as the teams continue their preparations for the T20 World Cup later this year in India.
