Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja lauded top-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood for his brilliant performance with the bat for Multan Sultans in HBL PSL 6.
Maqsood’s rich vein of form helped him score 428 runs at an average of 47. The right-hander scored five half-centuries, along with a crucial 65-run knock against Peshawar Zalmi in the final.
“Sohaib Maqsood has made a comeback in Pakistan team because of his performance in PSL, which is a good thing because there is a vacuum in Pakistan’s batting which he can fill, provided he doesn’t come under pressure. When a player makes a comeback, he has to redefine himself and they sometimes get tangled in that. He needs to enjoy his new lease of life and he will continue to hit sixes and fours,” said Raja in a video on his YouTube channel.

Raja also heaped praise on Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership and termed him a future captain for Pakistan.
“Sultans’ main plus point was their captain. He [Rizwan] is a simple man who doesn’t like to sing his own praises but does extraordinary things in the field. I think he has the ability to lead Pakistan in future,” he said.
