Salman Butt suggests strategy for Pakistan Test series against Bangladesh and England

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has shared his insights and concerns regarding the Pakistan cricket team's preparations for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh and England.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Butt highlighted the lack of assurances within Pakistan cricket and the critical need for calculated risks to achieve significant success.

"There are no assurances in Pakistan cricket. You have to take those calculated risks. There is always an element of risk before big achievements arise," Butt said.

Addressing the composition of Pakistan's bowling attack, the former skipper pointed out a significant concern.

He suggested that Pakistan could opt for green pitches to leverage their medium pacers against England. However, he also highlighted the potential downside.

"Pakistan has medium pacers; we don’t have genuine pace. We can probably go with green pitches against England. But when you prepare green pitches, your batters start feeling the tension. When you make spin-friendly pitches, you start worrying about England’s spinners. There is some sort of skill set that will help you win these Test games. Produce pitches where bowlers and batsmen have an equal chance," he further added.

Bangladesh is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on August 17th for a two-match Test series, which is part of the ICC Test Championship. The matches will take place in Rawalpindi from August 21-25 and Karachi from August 30 to September 3. Then Pakistan will host England for three Tests in Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi during October.
