PAK vs ENG: Pakistan ends winless streak with dominant victory over England in Multan Test

Pakistan has finally broken their winless home streak by securing a resounding 152-run victory over England in the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium. This significant achievement comes after a challenging run for the team in recent years, marking their first home win since 2021.

The Pakistani side, led by Shan Masood, faced a tough period in Test cricket, having played 24 matches since their last home victory, securing only eight wins. Their victories during this stretch included two against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, three against Sri Lanka, and one against the West Indies. However, the team also suffered 12 defeats, with notable losses to strong sides like Australia and England, alongside four drawn matches against Australia and New Zealand.

In the second Test, Pakistan took charge right from the start. After scoring 366 runs in their first innings, the home side dismissed England for 291 runs, establishing a 75-run lead. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan shone with the ball, claiming eight and two wickets, respectively, in England's second innings, ensuring a commanding victory for Pakistan.

In the first innings, England's bowling attack put up a fight, with Matthew Potts taking two wickets and Brydon Carse claiming three. However, Sajid Khan proved to be the standout bowler for Pakistan, taking seven wickets for 111 runs, while Noman dismissed three in the same innings.

In their second innings, Pakistan posted 221 runs, bolstered by a solid 63 from Salman Ali Agha. England's bowlers, including Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir, struggled to contain the Pakistani batsmen, with Leach taking three wickets and Bashir claiming four.

The match took a decisive turn in England’s second innings when opener Zak Crawley was dismissed for just three runs, followed quickly by Ben Duckett, who was out for a duck off Sajid Khan's third ball of the over. This early collapse left England reeling as they attempted to chase down Pakistan's lead.

Sajid Khan's remarkable performance earned him the Player of the Match award, having taken a total of nine wickets in the match. This victory is a much-needed morale boost for the Shan Masood-led team, who have been grappling with consecutive defeats in recent matches.
