Shadab Khan's signing for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL) was confirmed yesterday as the two-times defending champions look to strengthen their team after being hit with injuries.
After a three-match stint with Brisbane Heat in the 2017-18 season, Shadab is returning to BBL and potentially helping the Sixers to their historic third successive title.
Sixers head coach Greg Shipperd was excited at the prospect of working with Shadab, said: "We welcome Shadab’s skills in all three facets of the game and can’t wait to see him get an opportunity in coming matches."
Showcasing his excitement to join Sixers for the remainder of their BBL campaign, Shadab wrote on Twitter:
"I have always enjoyed playing in Australia and the BBL. These are different and tough conditions so you get to learn a lot. Really excited to be part of the Sixers. Hopefully I can contribute to my team's success."
Shadab has proven himself as a handy all-rounder and his recent T20 World Cup campaign also helped to showcase his talent on the global stage once again.
The leggie took 9 wickets from 6 matches including 4-26 against eventual champions Australia, which are the best figures in a T20 World Cup semifinal match.
