Shadab Khan Praises Babar Azam's Captaincy and Batting Skills

Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan has praised the captaincy and batting skills of Babar Azam, saying that he is "the kind of player who is always scoring runs" and that this is due to the hard work and dedication he puts in during practice.

Babar Azam recently featured in Pakistan's home series against New Zealand, where he scored 226 runs in the Test series and 149 runs in the ODI series.

“Babar was definitely under pressure. He’s the kind of player who is always scoring runs. He middled the ball in the nets too,” he told Sky Sports as quoted by Cricwick.

However, despite Azam's strong performances, there is speculation that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may be considering splitting the leadership role and potentially replacing Azam as captain in some formats.

One name that has been mentioned as a potential replacement is Shan Masood. Azam will continue to lead the Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL), which takes place in Pakistan from February 13 to March 19.

Meanwhile, Shadab will captain Islamabad United in the PSL. The Zalmi will begin their campaign against the Karachi Kings on February 14, while Islamabad United will face the Kings on February 16.
