On the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi visited the Quaid’s Mausoleum to pay his respects and laid a floral wreath.
Speaking to the media present at the site, Shaheen Afridi expressed his honor at having the opportunity to visit the mausoleum.
“It is a great privilege for me to be here. This year has been remarkable for Pakistan cricket, especially the historic victory against South Africa. The players worked hard, and success followed,” he said.
Shaheen also highlighted the team’s achievements, noting their triumph in a historic ODI series and their unwavering spirit throughout.
Commenting on the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, the fast bowler stated, “Preparations are going well. If India had played in Pakistan, we would have hosted them with great hospitality. Nevertheless, wherever they play, we are ready to compete.”
Shaheen emphasized his commitment to cricket over politics, saying, “My job is to play, not to engage in politics. Wearing the green jersey is an honor for me, and I want to represent Pakistan with pride. Representing the country always fills me with immense pride.”
