Pakistan pacer, Shaheen Afridi, has expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his appointment as the national team T20I captain.
Afridi took on the role of T20I team captain following Babar Azam's resignation from his position as the leader across all three formats of the game.
Taking to his social media platform 'X,' Afridi shared his excitement for leading the national side in the shortest format of the game.
"I am honoured and thrilled to lead our national T20 cricket team. Thank you to the Pakistan cricket board and fans for their trust and support. I'll give my best to uphold the team spirit and bring glory to our nation on the cricket field. Our success lies in unity, trust and relentless effort. We are not just a team; we are a brotherhood, a family. Together, we rise," Shaheen wrote.
It is worth noting that the 23-year-old also serves as the captain for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and under his leadership the team has won two consecutive PSL titles.
