Shahnawaz Dahani, a player hailing from the Larkana streets to become a national superstar, has won a gold medal for his remarkable rise to the top.
In his debut season with Multan Sultans, Dahani was the leading wicket-taker in the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The right-arm pacer took 20 wickets in 11 matches and in doing so also became Multan's third-highest wicket-taker behind Sohail Tanvir (26) and Imran Tahir (37).
His remarkable performances earned him a call-up for Pakistan's T20 World Cup squad. Although he did not feature in any game. He would finally make his debut against Bangladesh and also stood out in the recently T20I completed series against West Indies.
His rise to the top has earned Shahnawaz a gold medal, which was honoured by the Sindh sports journalists during its annual awards.
