Pakistan opener Sharjeel Khan is eager to perform well for his national side after being selected in the T20I squad for the upcoming tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The 31-year-old was banned for five years — with half the period suspended — for his part in a gambling fix during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017.
While speaking in a video released by Karachi Kings’ official YouTube channel, Sharjeel thanked his fans and teammates for supporting him.
“As you can see I have made a comeback in the Pakistan team, I want to thank my fans, Karachi Kings players and the coaching staff for supporting me,” said Sharjeel.
“I will try to continue performing like this in the future as well. Please keep supporting me and remember me in your prayers,” he added.
Sharjeel scored 200 runs in five innings of the PSL season six, before it was postponed, at a strike rate of 170.94 including a century.
