Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) have defeated Multan by six wickets in the third quarter-final of Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup in Lahore.
KRL were set a target of 262 runs after their skipper Usman Arshad won the toss and decided to field first.
Multan’s left-handed batsman Imran Rafiq was the top run-scorer with 70 runs while Hasnain Bokhari, Ibtisam Sheikh and Khalilullah chipped in with 38, 32 and 31 runs respectively.
For KRL, Shoaib Ahmed and Nauman Ali claimed two wickets each.
Chasing the target, KRL remained largely unthreatened due to a brilliant 149-run second-wicket stand between Jaahid Ali (82) and Ahmed (92). They chased down the target in the 47th over of the innings for the loss of four wickets.
For Multan Ghulam Rehman was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name.
The fourth quarter-final will be played between Pakistan Television and Islamabad on Tuesday.
