In response, West Indies struggled against Pakistan's bowling attack, with only Dwayne Smith (65 off 46 balls) and Jonathan Carter (34 off 25 balls) making notable contributions.

Pakistan's bowlers maintained pressure throughout, with Sohail Tanvir taking 4/14, Shahid Afridi claiming 3/41, and Wahab Riaz chipping in with 2/18, restricting West Indies to 165/9.
