Former New Zealand cricketer, Simon Doull, has questioned Babar Azam’s decision to let Mohammad Haris face the first delivery from Shaheen Afridi during the clash between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday in HBL PSL 8.
Shaheen, who is known for taking wickets in his first over, produced a scintillating opening spell accounting for Mohammad on the very second ball with a perfect Yorker.
"With all the pressure of Shaheen up front on the opening batsmen, why isn't Babar taking the strike?" asked Doull during commentary.
“Trust me these things are discussed between openers before coming on to the crease,” he added.

Babar eventually faced Shaheen in the third over and hit a straight drive to the left-arm pacer for a boundary.
However, Shaheen had the last laugh as he struck Babar’s middle stump in the on the next delivery.
Afridi picked up a five-wicket to power Qalandars’ to a 40-run win over Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium.
