South African cricket board unaware of plans to host 2025 Champions Trophy

A rumor has emerged from India suggesting that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be moved entirely to South Africa, but both the ICC and the South African Cricket Board are reportedly unaware of any such plans.

According to sources, there has been no official communication with South Africa regarding hosting the Champions Trophy, and given the limited timeframe, the South African board currently has no feasible option to host the event.

Reports indicate that Indian media may be suggesting South Africa as a potential host to undermine Pakistan's position as the original host of the tournament. However, sources have clarified that organizing the Champions Trophy in such a short time frame would be challenging for South Africa.

No discussions regarding a South African alternative have taken place within the ICC, according to sources. The situation in 2009, when the Champions Trophy was moved to South Africa due to security concerns, was notably different.

In the current scenario, all major ICC member boards have sent their teams to Pakistan for tours, including England, Australia, and New Zealand, with no security concerns raised prior to their visits.
