Steyn questions Proteas decision to leave out senior players against Pakistan

Veteran pacer Dale Steyn, in a tweet on Thursday, questioned South Africa’s decision to leave out their senior players for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan.

According to the press release by Cricket South Africa, they had a prior agreement with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that players who are awarded Indian Premier League (IPL) contracts will be released early to join their respective teams.

“I missed the reason why our big dogs aren’t playing the T20s against Pak?” tweeted Steyn.

The likes of Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Faf du Plessis and Kagiso Rabada will be missing in action as Temba Bavuma will lead the ODI and T20I squads.

The tour runs from April 2-16 and consists of three ODIs and four T20 International matches.
