Stuart Broad likely to miss Pakistan Test tour due to personal reasons

England pacer Stuart Broad is likely to miss the upcoming Pakistan tour as he has informed the selectors about his unavailability due to personal reasons, Dailymail reported.

England will play the three-match Test series against Pakistan in December, but the 36-year-old and his partner Mollie King are expecting their first child in mid-November.

The birth date of the expected baby clashes with the training camp in Abu Dhabi, and warm-up period including matches between England and England Lions, clarifies that Stuart Broad would not be ready for the series that will be hosted in Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi from December 1.

Stuart Broad took a long time to make his final decision, as he enjoyed playing in summer with England as he was the leading wicket-taker in the previous Test series in which they won six out of seven matches.

In his career wicket tally of 566, Stuart Broad took a 29-wicket haul, surpassing the legend Glenn McGrath’s return, leaving him in the fifth position in all-time rankings and second only to his teammate James Anderson among seamers.

In recent times, Broad has expressed his desire to be an integral part of the new-look England red ball setup and has his eyes set on the 2023 Ashes.
