T20 World Cup: Fans in awe as Babar Azam grabs one-handed stunner

Babar Azam took an incredible catch during today's ongoing encounter against Zimbabwe at Perth Stadium.

Regis Chakabva was sent back to the hut by the 28-year-old, who displayed excellent reflexes. The batter attempted to protect the ball as Shadab Khan bowled a leg-break in the final ball of the 14th over. Chakabva was only able to find an outside edge, though.

The batter received a thick outside edge. Therefore the ball was intended to pass Babar. The Pakistani captain didn't allow the ball to pass him. He executed a dive to his right side and caught the ball with a fantastic response.

Chakabva went after failing to open his account. In addition, Shadab was now on a hat trick, but he could not complete it because his spell had been cast. Following Babar's grab, his teammates surrounded him to give him their congratulations.

Shadab, meanwhile, concluded with outstanding bowling statistics of 4-0-23-3. He also secured the coveted wickets of Milton Shumba and Sean Williams in addition to Chakabva.

Babar, born in Lahore, won the crowd's admiration for making the fantastic catch. The catch of the competition, according to some fans.

"Catch of the tournament by King Babar Azam sahib," one of the fans wrote.

"There's a reason he's known as Badshah Baba," another fan wrote on Twitter.
