Ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 draft, three players, namely Mir Hamza from Karachi Kings, Tahir Baig from Lahore Qalandars, and Rumman Raees from Islamabad United, have undergone a reclassification process.

Following the local player category renewal process, PCB revealed a list in which the aforementioned players were part of the Gold category. However, after the successful relegations requests, all three have relegated to Silver category.

The teams will now decide their retentions ahead of the PSL 9 draft, scheduled to take place on December 14 in Lahore.

The flagship event is tentatively scheduled for 8 February to 24 March 2024.
