To be here is special': Sodhi reveals family connection with Lahore

Ish Sodhi expressed his excitement to play in Pakistan, particularly Lahore, since his grandmother used to reside here before the 1947 partition, which holds sentimental value for him.

"Lot of Pakistanis here migrated from India in 1947 to come here - my grandmother is the opposite. Her family migrated from Lahore to India during the partition and so. To be here is, of course, special. My dad and I often speak about coming over here and, you know, reconnecting with some long-lost cousins who still live in Lahore. Unfortunately, I won't get a chance to see them over here", Sodhi said

"The place I was born in, Punjab in India, isn't very far away. I guess the older you become; you pay attention to a lot of these things. Again, to be here feels special. Moreover, I enjoyed talking to people here in Punjabi", he further added.

The 30-year-old shall add wrist spin flare to the Kiwis unit altogether and might get them through the winning line.

The New Zealand team is set to play five T20 Internationals and five ODI's against Pakistan, starting from April 14th in Lahore.
