Abrar Ahmed, who is named in Pakistan's 18-member squad for the Test series against England, expressed it is everyone's dream to play the elite format of the game for the country.
The 24-year-old Abrar has 43 wickets in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam trophy and is the leading wicket-taker. The best bowling figure of Abrar is 6/61 in the ongoing season. He was also part of the T20I side for the England series before the World Cup, however, didn't get the opportunity to play.

While speaking to a local media channel, the finger spinner shared he cannot express his happiness. "As I started to take wickets in 3 to 4 matches in the ongoing season of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, my fellow teammates started to tell me that your name will be included in the squad. Sarfaraz Ahmed continuously said you are doing well, your name will be included, and you will play."
Abrar revealed Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim used to ask about his bowling performance. "From that moment, I realized that my name will be called up for the national squad. Now, as my name is included, I will perform like this against England in the Test series just like I am performing for the domestic side."
Abrar further added that he informed his mother about his Test selection as he is very much attached to her.
"I used to bowl finger spin with the help of tape-ball, then I joined Rashid Latif cricket academy. I belong from Shinkiari Mansehra, but I played most of my cricket in Karachi. I bowl finger spin bowling like Ajanta Mendis and Mujeeb ur Rehman and I also watch Sunil Narine's bowling."
"My teammates used to call me a white ball expert, but I used to tell my teammates, let me come to the red ball, I will be difficult to play, and then I proved that I am difficult to play," he maintained.
It must be noted that England's three-match Test series is starting on December 1.
