Wahab Riaz appointed as Sports Minister in Punjab's caretaker cabinet

Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the sports minister in the caretaker cabinet of the Punjab government in Pakistan. 

Riaz, who is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League, has 237 international wickets across all formats.

He was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. 

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi made the appointment as part of an 11-person caretaker cabinet following the dissolution of the assembly and the end of Pervez Elahi's tenure as chief minister.
