Former Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz has reacted following his removal from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee.
Wahab took to the social media platform 'X,' where he addressed the ongoing discussions about his dismissal and the reasons behind it.
"I don't agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee; how can 1 vote dominate 6? Everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes," Wahab posted.
The former pacer also announced that he will release a statement later this evening.
"I will be issuing my statement today evening," he said.
Former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were removed from Pakistan's selection committee. The decision followed Pakistan's disappointing performance in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where the team failed to progress beyond the group stage.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the development in an official statement on Wednesday morning, stating, "It notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services would no longer be required in the national selection committee setup."
The PCB had also decided to relieve Wahab Riaz from his duties in the national team management. Riaz, who had served as the senior team manager during the tours of Ireland, England, and the ICC T20 World Cup, was set to be replaced.
