Waqar Younis dispels speculations about job offer from PCB

Former Pakistan captain, Waqar Younis, has put an end to speculations about his future in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He cleared the air, denying the existence of any offer from the cricketing board for a new role.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, the former bowling coach denied receiving any offer from the board for a new post. He emphasized his contentment with his current commitments and cited his family's needs as a priority.

While he remains open to possibilities, Waqar reaffirmed his dedication to commentary for the time being.

"Firstly, I haven't been offered anything in the board. Secondly, even if they [PCB] do, I don't think so I am in any position to take any post. I am happy with what I am doing. My children are at such an age where I need to spend more time with the family. Rest is my business and some commentary - which I think is the right way to go now," Waqar said.

The 51-year-old further stated that he intends to focus on his commentary duties, a role that has garnered him widespread appreciation for his insightful analysis.

"To be very honest, I go by the day. I don't know what will happen in the future because I can't predict that. But for the time being, I am happy where I am. There are some things coming up in the near future. There are multiple leagues happening as well which will offer me commentary, so I will stick to the commentary for now and see what happens in the future," he concluded.
