Pakistan’s legendary former pacer and current bowling coach Waqar Younis claimed that ‘people are being harsh’ on the national team despite their successful tour of South Africa in which the Men in Green won the One-Day International (ODI) series two-one while winning the Twenty20 International (T20I) series three-one.
The 49-year-old stated that it was not the team’s fault that they had to face a weakened Proteas unit.
"People are being harsh when they are saying this wasn’t South Africa’s top team. It’s not our fault it wasn’t their strongest team and it was something that was out of our hands. But you have to realise that it was still their national team,” Waqar said.

The legendary former pacer also praised the efforts of skipper Babar Azam who had an incredible outing in South Africa.
"The way Babar Azam is playing is there for all to see and the whole world is quite rightly praising him. He’s the best batsman in the world and if he keeps working hard and continues to improve, he will just get better and better,” he said.
