Pakistan’s umpire Aleem Dar, while officiating in the ongoing first Test between Australia and New Zealand in Perth, got knocked down after colliding with Kiwi fielder Mitchell Santner.
The incident occurred in the 35th over of Australia’s second innings. Santner came in to back up the throw but collided with umpire Aleem Dar. The heavy knee-on-knee contact knocked down the umpire who had to be attended to by the physios.

A combination of magic spray from the New Zealand physio and a compression bandage, however, helped the umpire return to the middle to fulfil his duties.
“That always helps. The crowd are loving it. They see the magic spray on this ground a lot for football,” commentator Adam Gilchrist joked after the incident.
