England’s all-rounder Moeen Ali continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing Vitality Blast T20 Cup with a scorching hundred, that helped Worcestershire beat Sussex by eight wickets at the Central County Ground on Friday. The win propels his side to the T20 Blast’s finals day.
Chasing down a target of 185, the all-rounder blazed his way to 121 runs off 60 balls with the help of 11 sixes and eight fours.
The 32-year-old started the tournament on the back of a miserable run of form for the England side which saw him being left out of the England squad for the ongoing Ashes series.

Moeen however has turned his fortunes around in the Vitality Blast T20 Cup by hitting three scores above fifty in his last five matches. His unbeaten hundred is the latest innings that is helping the all-rounder return to the limelight.
Sussex captain Luke Wright was left speechless after the all-rounder’s onslaught and could only tip his hat to an incredible innings.
“We have to take our hats off to Moeen. I'm a massive Mo fan and that was world-class out there. Those wickets [in the middle] knocked the stuffing out of us. We were trying to get up to 200, but I was still happy at the halfway stage," Wright said.

Ali stated that he felt good scoring against one of the best sides of the tournament and hoped that his side could continue their momentum to another tournament victory.
"It was good to do that against a top side in a quarter-final. We were missing a number of players, we have match-winners in our team, even with some missing. We have built up some momentum last year and this year and now we are back in the finals," Ali said.
