Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik took a stunning catch during a Lanka Premier League match on Friday.
Malik kept his cool on the boundary line and made a difficult catch look easy, while playing for Jaffna Stallions against Colombo Kings.
Stallions, batting first, posted 148/9 in their 20 overs with the help of Wanindu Hasaranga’s 41-run innings from 23 balls. His knock included seven boundaries and a six.
In response, an unbeaten half-century by opener Dinesh Chandimal led the side to victory in the final over of the innings. His 51-ball 68 included seven fours and two maximums.
It must be noted that multiple postponements, venue uncertainties and late withdrawals marred the build-up for Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) ambitious tournament which was originally scheduled to begin in late August.
The league is being played behind closed doors with the final scheduled on December 16.
