BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that India’s participation in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan will depend on the government’s decision.  

“Our stance remains the same as before. We will do whatever our government says,” Shukla told the Indian media. He added that the BCCI is working closely with government authorities to address the matter.  

The issue has created a deadlock between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the BCCI. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is reportedly trying to resolve the situation through mutual discussions.  

During a recent briefing, an Indian government spokesperson cited security concerns as a key challenge for sending the team across the border. However, no official public statement has been made by the BCCI regarding the matter.  

The uncertainty has also impacted the ICC’s deliberations, with a planned meeting on the Champions Trophy being postponed early on Friday. The ICC is expected to reconvene soon to find a resolution.  

The Champions Trophy 2025 is set to be hosted by Pakistan, but India’s participation remains a major question due to these ongoing discussions.
