'Yes, I am part of a group', Pakistan captain opens up about grouping within squad

In response to a journalist's inquiry regarding perceived group dynamics within the Pakistan cricket team, Mohammad Rizwan articulated his vision for leadership and camaraderie.

The newly appointed white-ball captain expressed a strong commitment to fostering a unified team environment, stating, "Yes, I am part of a group: the group of the whole Pakistan team, alhamdulillah. For me, as a captain, all 15 players of Pakistan are captains."

Rizwan highlighted the importance of collaboration, emphasizing that his role extends beyond traditional captaincy duties.

"As captain, my role is to go out there for the toss, presentation, press conference, etc. All players are captains and leaders," he remarked.

The 32- year old rejected the notion of hierarchy, asserting, "If I think of myself as a king while being captain, then everything’s wrong. In fact, a leader should be like a servant to the 15 players."

It is worth noting that Rizwan's leadership will commence with the upcoming tours to Australia and Zimbabwe, where Pakistan is scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in each country.
