Former Pakistan captains Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousaf have urged legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi to amicably end their conflict.

Rizvi has sent Rs.100 million notice to Akhtar for his defamatory remarks regarding the Umar Akmal case. Rizvi has asked Akhtar to retract his statement while tendering an unconditional apology.

Akhtar, while speaking on a local news channel and his YouTube channel on Tuesday, had accused Rizvi of having a personal agenda against Pakistan cricketers, after the board announced a three-year ban on middle-order batsman Akmal.

Afridi also offered to mediate between Akhtar and Rizvi on the matter.

Meanwhile, Yousaf echoed similar thoughts while also stating that such things will have a negative impact on Pakistan’s cricket.

“There is no doubt that Shoaib Akhtar is Pakistan’s star player. I hope him and Taffazul Rizvi can sort out their issues amicably,” said Yousaf. “Such things will take Pakistan cricket in the wrong direction while also affecting younger players.”
