Yousuf heaps praise on Saim Ayub, Haseebullah

Former Pakistan batsman, Mohammad Yousuf, heaps praise on Pakistan young gun, Saim Ayub, for being a quick learner when it comes to playing cricket.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Yousuf was particularly pleased with Saim's performance in the eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and stated that he has the quality to become a good player.

"Saim Ayub is a quick learner. He was with us during the Test series. I discussed few things with him and he quickly picked it up and learned quickly and it's the quality of a good player," said Yousuf.

“Saim is quite new in the team and he has to make himself as a player that the selection committee should automatically consider him in the squad" he added.

The 20-year-old who represented Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League eighth edition scored 341 runs in 12 matches with a healthy strike-rate of 165.53. 

Yousuf also expressed his admiration for Saim’s teammate at Peshawar Zalmi, Haseebullah, and as he has worked with him in the under-19 cricket. 

"Another player that I admire the most is Haseebullah and I have worked with him in the Under-19 team and I have seen his matches. He plays freely, he's quite fit as he is a wicketkeeper batsman," he concluded.
