Batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has dismissed the talks of changing the opening pair of skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan.
Following Tuesday's loss to New Zealand in Christchurch, Mohammad Yousuf addressed the media and said there is no chance of changing them just before the T20 World Cup.
"For the previous two years, we've had the same opening duo. We never discussed the topic of switching partners, nor should we. Yousuf remarked. "It's hard to take a gamble now when the World Cup is so close."
"In the first game, Mohammad Rizwan was awarded player of the match award, while Babar took the award in the second game. There's no way to switch the couple up," he clarified.
Today in the tri-series, New Zealand crushed Pakistan by nine wickets thanks to a brilliant batting performance by Finn Allen, who demonstrated he is in fine form heading into the T20 World Cup.
Finn Allen hit 62 runs off 42 balls, including six sixes, as the Black Caps easily reached their goal of 131 at Hagley Oval.
Off-spinner Michael Bracewell was voted the game's most valuable player after he took two wickets in four overs, including the dismissals of the match's most productive opening duo, Rizwan (16) and skipper Babar Azam (21).
