Yuvraj Singh baffled by Pakistan's strategy in Super Over against USA in T20 World Cup

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh expressed confusion over Pakistan's strategy during the Super Over against the USA in the T20 World Cup clash at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday.

After matching Pakistan's runs in the second innings, the USA set a target of 19 runs in the Super Over, with Muhammad Amir conceding three wide balls to left-handed batter Harmeet Singh.

Pakistan opted to send Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman to chase the target in the Super Over. However, they only managed to score 13 runs, losing the match by five runs.

Yuvraj criticized Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, for his strategy, suggesting that Fakhar should have faced Saurabh Netravalkar instead of Iftikhar.

Fakhar Zaman did not get a chance to bat in the Super Over, as Shadab Khan faced the remaining three deliveries after Iftikhar was dismissed on the third ball of the over.

"I don’t understand why @FakharZamanLive didn’t take strike against a left-arm seamer — it’s easier for a left-hander to hit through the angle the bowler creates. Nonetheless, credit to #TeamUSA @usacricket for making smart decisions under pressure, especially captain Monank Patel," Yuvraj commented.

Looking ahead, Pakistan is set to face India on Sunday in New York. Yuvraj noted, "Pakistan now needs a must-win against India & they surely need to bat & field better! With India's strong start, it's gonna be hard to beat us!”
