Zain Abbas seeks inspiration from his former Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) teammate, Fawad Alam, as the Southern Punjab opener continues to plunder runs in domestic cricket.
While speaking in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Zain appreciated Fawad’s positive attitude and is determined to work as hard as the middle-order batsman.
“Fawad bhai is everyone’s inspiration. What really inspires me about him is that he works really hard and is very confident. He used to stay away from negativity. He was never demotivated after being ignored for selection. He always stayed positive and believed in himself. He is very hard working and has been rewarded for his efforts by the Almighty,” said Zain.

The 29-year-old cited the example of Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, while stressing the importance of 'A' team tours for the development of a young cricketer.
“A team tours are very important. If you look at Babar Azam, he got established after playing a lot of cricket at junior level. You get international exposure by playing in under-19 cricket or on 'A' team tours. When you go on 'A' team tours, there are already four or five players in the squad that have represented Pakistan. So you get to learn a lot,” he said.
“I hope more A team tours take place in future, so that young players are ready when they get an opportunity to represent Pakistan, rather than still being in the learning stage while playing international cricket,” he added.
