This outstanding performance has propelled the 21-year-old to become the joint fourth-highest wicket-taker in the Vitality Blast this season, having impressively taken a total of 19 wickets thus far.
Zaman's first breakthrough came when he dismissed Emilio Gay, who had been the top scorer for Northamptonshire with 47 runs from 34 balls. Displaying his proficiency in death bowling, Zaman further exhibited his skills in the 18th over by removing Saif Zaib, who had contributed a rapid 25 off just 16 deliveries. Not content with that, he concluded his excellent spell by clean bowling Andrew Tye in the final over of the innings, effectively restricting Northamptonshire to a total of 156/8.
