Pakistan pacer, Zaman Khan, aspires to make his mark in this year's World Cup in India following his stellar performance for Derbyshire in the recently concluded Vitality Blast 2023.
The young bowler, who was the fourth-highest wicket-taker with 25 wickets at an average of 16.55 in the aforementioned tournament, sees his experience in handling pressure situations as an advantage.
"I always think that since I have been doing so well in big games under pressure situations so if I get a chance to play in the World Cup, all these experiences of handling the crunch moments will help me to perform at my best during such a huge tournament," he said.
The 21-year-old also credits Pakistan team director, Mickey Arthur, for unwavering support and belief in him.
"Mickey Arthur was very happy about my performance in the Blast. He always backed me up and kept on telling me that for him I’m a match-winner," he concluded.
It is worth noting that the right-arm pacer is currently representing Toronto Nationals in the ongoing Global T20 Canada 2023 and due to his exceptional bowling performance, he is currently the joint fourth-highest wicket-taker with seven wickets in five matches at an average of 16.42 and economy rate of 7.18.
