Zaman Khan overtakes Shadab Khan's record in T20 cricket

Pakistan fast bowler, Zaman Khan, who is representing Sydney Thunder in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) season 13, has not only emerged as the top wicket-taker this year but has also surpassed the T20 cricket record set by leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

After achieving his 62nd wicket this season, Zaman surpassed Shadab's record of 61 wickets from the previous year. Interestingly, the third position on this prestigious list is jointly held by former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, former pacer Wahab Riaz, and Haris Rauf, all with an impressive tally of 60 wickets each.

In today's BBL 13 match against the Melbourne Stars, the 22-year-old claimed three crucial wickets. These included the dismissals of captain Glenn Maxwell, who fell to a yorker after scoring 30 runs, Hilton Cartwright at 22 runs, and Jonathan Merlo at 2 runs.

The Melbourne Stars were dismissed for a total of 172 runs in the first innings, and in reply, the Sydney Thunder successfully chased down the target in 18.2 overs.

Zaman concluded his four-over spell with three wickets, conceding 24 runs at an economy rate of 6.00. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for his decisive and victorious display in the match.
